Overview
This Refund Policy explains how GetResumeAI ("we," "us," or "our") handles refunds and billing issues for our digital software-as-a-service platform. It supplements our Terms of Service and should be read together with them.
Payments for Pro subscriptions are processed by Paddle or our secure payment processor. Refunds, when approved, are typically issued to the original payment method through our payment processor.
Digital AI SaaS product
GetResumeAI is a digital, cloud-based service. When you subscribe to Pro, you receive immediate access to AI resume generation, increased usage limits, and related features delivered online. There is no physical shipment.
Because access begins upon successful payment, refunds are generally limited as described below. You are responsible for reviewing generated content and managing your subscription (including cancellation before renewal) through the customer portal or tools we provide.
Subscription refund policy
Pro subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (e.g. monthly or annually, as shown at checkout). Unless required by applicable law or expressly stated in a promotion:
- No partial refunds: We do not provide prorated refunds for unused time within a billing period after the period has started.
- Cancellation: You may cancel auto-renewal at any time; cancellation stops future charges but does not retroactively refund the current period unless a refund is approved under this policy or law.
- First-time purchase review: If you contact us within fourteen (14) days of your first Pro purchase and have not substantially used paid features (e.g. more than a de minimis number of Pro generations), we may, at our sole discretion, offer a one-time refund. This is a courtesy policy, not a guarantee.
- Service failures: If a verified, prolonged outage or billing error on our side prevented reasonable use of Pro features you paid for, we may issue a credit or partial refund proportional to the affected period.
Free-tier access is provided at no charge and is not eligible for refunds.
Duplicate payments
If you believe you were charged twice for the same subscription period, failed checkout that still captured funds, or upgraded while an existing subscription was active, contact us promptly with:
- The email address on your GetResumeAI account;
- Approximate charge date and amount;
- Last four digits of the card or receipt ID, if available.
After verification with our payment processor's records, we will refund confirmed duplicate charges to the original payment method. We do not refund intentional duplicate subscriptions where both periods were actively used unless required by law.
Chargebacks & billing disputes
Please contact support@getresumeai.org before initiating a chargeback with your bank. We will work in good faith to resolve legitimate billing errors.
Unwarranted chargebacks may result in account suspension while the dispute is investigated. Our payment processor and card networks may impose fees; we reserve the right to recover costs where permitted and to deny future purchases from accounts associated with abusive disputes.
Fraud protection
We take payment fraud seriously. We may decline refunds or close accounts where we reasonably suspect:
- Stolen payment credentials or identity misrepresentation;
- Abuse of free trials, promotional credits, or repeated refund requests;
- Automated or bulk account creation to circumvent usage limits;
- Chargeback fraud ("friendly fraud") after substantial use of Pro features;
- Violation of our Terms of Service or illegal use of the Service.
We cooperate with our payment processor's fraud tools and may report suspected criminal activity to relevant authorities. Refunds are not available for accounts terminated for fraud or policy violations, except where mandatory law requires otherwise.
Statutory rights (EEA/UK consumers)
If you are a consumer in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you may have a statutory right to withdraw from certain distance contracts within fourteen (14) days. For digital content supplied immediately after purchase with your express consent, withdrawal rights may not apply once delivery has begun, as permitted by applicable law.
Nothing in this policy limits non-waivable consumer rights. Where local law requires a refund, we will comply.
How to request a refund
Email support@getresumeai.org with the subject line Refund Request and include:
- Account email;
- Reason for the request;
- Relevant invoice or receipt details.
You may also manage or cancel subscriptions via the customer portal linked from your account dashboard when available.
Processing time
Approved refunds are initiated within five (5) business days of our confirmation. Depending on your bank or card issuer, funds may take an additional five to ten (5–10) business days to appear on your statement. Refunds are issued in the currency and payment method used for the original transaction unless we agree otherwise or law requires a different approach.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date reflects the current version. Material changes will be posted on this page. Continued use of paid features after an update constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
